Fullerton Police Chief Michael Sellers to retire

Fullerton City Manager Joe Felz today (Feb. 3) announced that Michael F. Sellers has informed the city that he will retire from his position as chief of the Fullerton Police Department.  The retirement will be effective Feb. 18. 


Committee meets on proposed pass-through water rate increase

The Water Rate Study Ad Hoc Committee will hold a public meeting at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, in the Assembly Room of the Fullerton Maintenance Services Department, 1580 W. Commonwealth Ave.



Citizens can walk and talk with Mayor Quirk-Silva

Citizens are invited to join Fullerton Mayor Sharon Quirk on a “Walk and Talk” Saturday, Feb. 4.  The walk will begin at 8:30 a.m., and will take in the downtown area around Orangethorpe Park, 1737 W. Roberta Ave.  Parking can be found in the park’s lot.


Missing woman found dead in apparent suicide

A 72-year-old Fullerton woman who had been missing since Tuesday (Jan. 31) morning has been found dead, the victim of an apparent suicide.  Hongyuan Li had been missing since yesterday (Jan 31) morning. This afternoon, police cancelled the search after Li was found dead several blocks away. It is an apparent suicide.


SR-57 Northbound Widening Project: Chapman Full Freeway Closure
Construction crews will continue removing falsework at Chapman Ave. bridge through a full closure. Also lane and ramp closures will continue from Katella Ave. to SR-91 for pavement grinding and restriping the freeway.

Important Notice of Harbor Boulevard Closure
Work is expected to start at the end of January and completed by the end of February. The majority of work will be conducted during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with intermittent lane closures on Harbor Boulevard. Specific work on the BNSF bridge that requires complete closure of Harbor Boulevard between Commonwealth Avenue and Valencia Drive has been scheduled on Sunday, January 29th, through Wednesday, February 1st, from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Detour signing will be provided to minimize any inconvenience to businesses and the motoring public.
