On April 5, 2011 the Hillcrest Park Master Plan was approved by the City Council and was returned to the Ad Hoc Committee and staff for phasing and further cost review.

Beautiful stone steps adorn Hillcrest Park, which served as an Auto Park until 1930. Centrally located in the City, this scenic park is filled with mature shade trees and large picnic areas that are perfect for any social outing. Scattered throughout the park are several war memorials dedicated to the Fullerton residents who served the country in a major war.
There are three rental buildings in Hillcrest Park; the Hillcrest Recreation Center, the Izaak Walton Cabin, and the Red Cross Building. In addition there are several outdoor facilities available for outdoor rental; the Hillcrest Terrace, the Pavilion, and the Upper and Lower Picnic areas. Weddings are popular on the front lawn, the bowl and the recently renovated Hilltop Lawn at the Reservoir.
Children and young adults can take part in the summer and after-school programs happening at the Hillcrest Recreation Center. which is located in the east end of the park on 1155 N. Lemon Street. The Izaak Walton Cabin serves as the meeting site of the Izaak Walton League, which is known as one of the oldest conservation organizations in the United States. Rebuilt in 1998 after being destroyed in a 1990 fire, this spacious cabin can also be rented for special events. Contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (714) 738-6575 for information on reserving the cabin for your special occasion.
