PRJ06-00108 - ZON06-00120. APPLICANT: T-MOBILE; PROPERTY OWNER: FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF FULLERTON.
A request for approval of a minor site plan to install a telecommunications antenna within an existing church steeple, and install associated equipment within a cabinet on the exterior of an existing church building, on property located at 838 North Euclid Street (southeast corner of Euclid Street and Fern Drive) (R-2 zone) (Categorically exempt under Section 15301 of CEQA Guidelines).
Assistant Planner Kusch provided a staff report on the project. Staff supports the project and believes the tower would be out of sight and not readily visible.
Public hearing opened.
Resident Doug Speaker, 839 W. Fern Dr., asked if there would be a potential impact on the cellular service within the neighborhood. Chief Planner Rosen explained that under the federal regulations the cell phone companies are required to fine tune the frequencies and transmission levels, so they don't interfere with other carriers.
Due to the applicant not in attendance, the project was continued to the April 20 meeting.
MOTION made by Committee Member Eastman, SECONDED by Committee Member Habatabaee and CARRIED unanimously by all voting members present to CONTINUE project to April 20 meeting.
