Oversight Board

As part of the Fullerton Redevelopment Agency dissolution process, the City Council, on January 10, 2012 by Resolution No. 2012-04, confirmed that the City of Fullerton would serve as the Successor Agency to the Fullerton Redevelopment Agency effective February 1, 2012. Therefore, all assets, properties, contracts, leases, and records of the former Fullerton Redevelopment Agency were transferred by operation of law to the Successor Agency, which is the City of Fullerton. An Oversight Board has been established pursuant to Health and Safety Code 34179 to assist the Successor Agency in the close out and wind down of affairs of the dissolved redevelopment agency. The Oversight Board will have its first initial meeting on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 5 pm at the City Hall Council Chambers, 303 W. Commonwealth Avenue, Fullerton, CA 92832.

An Oversight Board is generally intended to supervise the activities of the Successor Agency. The Oversight Board has a fiduciary responsibility to holders of the former Agency’s enforceable obligations and the taxing entities that benefit from distribution of property tax and other revenues. The Oversight Board of the Successor Agency consists of seven (7) members appointed by and representing:

  • County Board of Supervisors (2 members): Scott Stanford and Craig Walker
  • Mayor (one member): Doug Chaffee
  • County Superintendent of Education (one member): Susan Cross Hume
  • Chancellor of California Community Colleges (one member): Rodrigo Garcia
  • Largest special district taxing entity; Orange County Sanitation District (one member):
  • A former RDA employee appointed by Mayor (one member): Ramona Castaneda
