|Fullerton, Ca –.The Fullerton Museum's "Stroller Brigade" will continue through July 23. |
The Museum Center welcomes parents, caregivers, – and grandparents who baby-sit – to visit the museum Wednesdays morning to view the newest exhibit, Melancholy Menagerie: A Gaze into the World of Big Eyes, and take part in special activities specifically designed for the “stroller crowd.” Children will hear stories, learn rhymes and songs, and take part in educational play and arts and crafts.
“Stroller Brigade” hours at the museum will be from 10 a.m.-noon Wednesdays.
The current exhibit, Melancholy Menagerie: A Gaze into the World of Big Eyes, will delve into the idea of why the Big Eyes character was so popular in the 1960s and why it’s had a resurgence in contemporary art. It will pay homage to the early artists working under pseudonyms and recognize them as influences on a current art movement that continues to popularize these charming figures of sadness. No reservations are needed to participate in the Stroller Brigade, but large groups (more than 15) are asked to notify the Museum Education Office at (714) 738-3136 prior to coming to the museum.
The Fullerton Museum Center is located at 301 N. Pomona Ave., east of Harbor Blvd., in downtown Fullerton.
Further information about “Stroller Brigade” may be obtained by calling the Fullerton Museum Center at (714) 738-6545.
Persons requiring special accommodations to view the exhibit are asked to notify the museum staff prior to coming to the Fullerton Museum Center.
