Fullerton, CA - On Saturday, March 8, 2014, join Fullerton Mayor Doug Chaffee as he leads an effort to beautify the city of Fullerton from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. along the Juanita Cooke Trails in northern Fullerton. The project involves volunteers and City crews partnering together to clean up the trails and parkways in the city.

This project will be at N. Berkeley Ave. – (between Valley View Dr. and Harbor Blvd.). Volunteers can park on N. Berkeley Ave. or in the southeast corner of the North County Justice Center lower parking lot.

"Volunteerism is very important to me. I believe that by having residents and City crew members come together for the common purpose to clean up our city, we will build a stronger sense of community," Mayor Doug Chaffee said in regards to the Volunteer Day.

Volunteers and City crews will build a low timber wall, enhance landscaping and parkway long Berkeley Avenue, and trash clean-up along Berkley Avenue and the Juanita Cooke Trail. Volunteers are expected to provide their own personal equipment like closed-toed shoes, work gloves, clothing appropriate for this type of work, etc. After everything is finished, pizza will be served for the volunteers.

For more information, please contact the Fullerton Parks and Recreation department at (714) 738-3330.
