Fullerton, Ca – Calling all ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggedy beasties and things that go bump in the night:  You'll feel right at home at Fullerton Market Thursday, Oct. 24.

The market will host its annual "Okto-BOO-fest" on the 24th, featuring activities, games and special events for all ages.

Located in the heart of Fullerton’s historic downtown, Fullerton Market offers farm-fresh produce, flowers, fresh-baked breads, arts and crafts, and activities for children, including face painting, balloon art, a bounce house, and the “trackless train.”

Market hours are 4-8:30 p.m. and the “Okto-BOO-fest” festivities will begin at 5 p.m.

“Okto-BOO-fest,” which will close out the market’s 2013 season, will feature two costume parades at 5:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. for children, with trick-or-treat bags given to the first 500 children who participate.  In addition, there will be special carnival games, trick or treating at vendor booths, and free arts and crafts activities presented by the Fullerton Museum Center.

The festivities will also include a pumpkin carving and decorating contest, with families and individuals invited to bring their carved and/or decorated pumpkin to be voted on by the market crowd.  The winning carver/decorator will receive a gift certificate to a local store.

Musical entertainment for the evening will be courtesy of the popular Bubba and the Big Bad Blues.

“Bubba” is Christopher LeClerc, a Fullerton native, who formed his blues band in 1990.  His credits include performances with such stars as Ike Turner, Joe Sample and Nat Dove.

The band will perform from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Adults attending “Okto-BOO-fest” will be able to visit the wine and beer garden, which will offer German beer and peanuts.

The market is located on Wilshire Avenue, between Harbor Boulevard and Pomona Avenue.  Parking may be found in any of the free downtown lots, or in the parking structures at Wilshire (enter from Harbor); Lemon Street and Chapman Avenue; and in the Transportation Center at Pomona and Santa Fe Avenue.

Further information may be obtained by calling the Fullerton Museum Center at (714) 738-6545.

Persons requiring special accommodations to attend “Okt-BOO-fest” are asked to notify the museum staff prior to coming to the market.

Fullerton Market will return in April 2014 for its 23rd season.
