|Fullerton, CA – The down home, rockabilly sounds of western swing will be playing at the Fullerton Parks and Recreation Department's popular outdoor summer concert series Wednesday, August 7.|
Formed in 1987, "Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite Boys" have proved a favorite with audiences for their combination of rockabilly, western swing and hillbilly boogie sounds. With several albums and CDs to their credit, the group has become a touchstone within the roots music scene in the United States.
All concerts in the series are free and will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. While food will be available for purchase at the complex, concert-goers are welcome to bring a picnic supper to enjoy, as well as lawn chairs or blankets for seating.
The Sports Complex is at 560 E.Silver Pine St., which is off Bastanchury Road, west of Brea Boulevard, in the Brea Dam flood control basin.
Parking for the disabled will be available at the site.
Overflow parking will be provided at the First Evangelical Free Church parking structure on the northwest corner of Bastanchury Road and Brea Boulevard. Shuttle service will be provided to and from the parking structure and the sports complex from 6-9 pm.
