Fullerton, CA – Celebrated author, chef, and business woman, Zov Karamardian will be the featured speaker at the Fullerton Library's Author Luncheon on Saturday, August 24 at the Coyote Hills Golf Course at 1440 E. Bastanchury Road in Fullerton. From 11:30 am to 1:30 p.m guests will dine and hear from Karamardian who has worked alongside some of the top chefs in the county including Julia Child, Emeril Lagasse and Michael Symon.

The luncheon is sponsored by the Fullerton Public Library Foundation and all profits from the event will be used to support the upcoming 2014 summer reading program for children.

Karamardian, born in Israel and raised in Iraq, immigrated to America in 1959 and developed a love for cooking by being by her mom’s side while she cooked. Soon thereafter, she discovered Julia Child on television and it became an obsession. Later in life, she became very good friends with her and was encouraged to put her love for cooking into cookbooks.

Today, Karamardian is a nationally recognized chef and entrepreneur who owns six restaurants and is the author of two bestselling cookbooks, "Simply Zov," and “Zov: Recipies and Memories from the Heart.” Food Network recently named her bakery, the best in the nation and her accolades include recognition for being “California Chef of the Year” and “Restaurateur of the Year.”

Fullerton Library Director Maureen Gebelein states “We are humbled and delighted to have Zov Karmardian come to our annual luncheon supporting our upcoming reading program. Not only will guests be able to find inspiration from hearing from our speaker but they will be investing in the lives of our young people through our reading programs.”

Reservations for the luncheon can be made at the Fullerton Library Foundation website at: Individual tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available. Deadline to reserve a seat for the luncheon is August 17.

“This event will most likely sell out so I would suggest that tickets be secured in advance,” added Gebelein. In addition to the Fullerton Library Foundation website, more information is available by calling (714) 738-3366.
