|Fullerton, CA – A Chinese delegation led by the President of Tianjin Sister-City Council for the Promotion of Enterprises (TSCPE), Mr. Wang Yujing, will be welcomed to the City of Fullerton by Mayor Bruce Whitaker and the members of the Fullerton City Council on Thursday, July 25. 2013.|
The TSCPE's visit to Orange County is being coordinated by California ETEC, a local organization that facilitates education exchange and investment between the State of California and Asia. The TSCPE visit builds on a formal sister city relationship with the County of Orange that was signed in August 1997.
TCSPE chose to visit the City of Fullerton in acknowledgement of the many attractive features for investment and trade linkage with China including award winning educational institutions and a robust industrial economy. The delegation of nine consists of investment and manufacturing companies with interest in new investment and trade opportunities in Fullerton and Orange County.
According to Mayor Bruce Whitaker, "the upcoming visit from the Tianjin Sister-City Council further strengthens the economic partnership between China and Orange County." He added, “California is the gateway to the U.S. economy and we are committed to fostering an economic environment that leads to increased trade and investment for both Fullerton and Chinese companies. The respective strengths of the two cities suggest strong synergy for cooperation in the near future.”
The City of Tianjin maintains the highest GDP of any city in China and is home to the 11th busiest port in the world with a population exceeding 13,000,000 based on numbers from 2011.
