|Fullerton, CA - Fullerton City Hall will be closed Monday, May 27, for the Memorial Day holiday. It will reopen at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28.|
The Fullerton Main Library, 353 W. Commonwealth Ave., will also be closed Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27. The Main Library's normal operating hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday; closed Friday, 10 a.m.-5 pm. and Saturday; and reopen on Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
The administrative offices at Fullerton Municipal Airport will be closed May 27; however, airport operations will proceed as usual, and the Air Traffic Control Tower will be open that day.
MG Disposal, the city's trash contractor, will observe the holiday, and trash collections will not be made May 27. Pickups will run one day late: Monday's collection will be made Tuesday; Tuesday on Wednesday; Wednesday on Thursday; Thursday on Friday; and Friday on Saturday.
Special Memorial Day ceremonies are planned for May 27 at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton. The City of Fullerton and the American Veterans Memorial Association will present the 75th Annual Fullerton Memorial Day Observance with special guest speaker Jo Dee Catlin Jacob, Captain, U. S Navy (Retired).
This year, 600 community volunteers will place a cross or Star of David and a flag on more than 3,900 veterans’ graves throughout the cemetery.
Catlin Jacob will speak on volunteerism, with the theme: "From Navy Blue to Girl Scout Green: Serving the Community after Serving the Nation."
The program, which will begin at 10 a.m., is free to the public.
