Fullerton, Ca – If you and your green thumb are free Saturday, March 16, the City of Fullerton and Fullerton Beautiful Inc. would like to make a date with you.
In observance of the national "Arbor Day" program, the City and Fullerton Beautiful, a nonprofit organization dedicated to beautifying the community, are sponsoring a tree-planting program at Virgil “Gus” Grissom Park, 1601 West Rosecrans Avenue.
The activity will take place from 9 a.m. until noon. Volunteers are asked to bring shovels and buckets, as well as gloves and sturdy shoes.
In the event of rain on the 16th, the tree planting will be moved to the following Saturday, March 23.
Volunteers do not need to call in advance to register for the program; they should simply show up at the site on the date and time noted.
Further information about the tree-planting program may be obtained by calling Phil Kisor, Landscape Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Fullerton, at (714) 738-6897,
Persons requiring special accommodations to participate in the tree planting are asked to contact Mr. Kisor prior to March 16.
