The ancient art of printmaking will be explored in a special artist studio offered by the Fullerton Museum Center Friday, June 1.

The event, open to all ages, will allow participants to carve linoleum for original block prints and silk screens on paper or fabric.  Each participant will be able to take home his or her piece of original art.

The art studio will be open from 6-10 p.m. at the Fullerton Museum Center, 301 N. Pomona Ave., one block east of Harbor Boulevard, in downtown Fullerton.

The studio is being offered by the museum in conjunction with its exhibit, “China Modern:  Designing 20th Century Popular Culture,” which examines China’s use of advertising images as well as graphic and product design to shape its political ideologies and cultural values in the 20th century.

Fee for the studio is $5 per person, and includes materials and admission to the museum exhibit.

Children participating in the studio must be accompanied by an adult.

Further information about the Drop-in Printmaking Studio may be obtained by calling the museum’s Education Office at (714) 738-3136.

Persons requiring special accommodations to participate in the art studio or view the exhibit are asked to notify the museum staff prior to coming to the Fullerton Museum Center.

"China Modern:  Designing 20th Century Popular Culture" runs through July 1.
