Confidence in communication can open doors to better jobs, enhanced relationships, and more opportunities for community involvement.
In an effort to help provide non-English speakers an opportunity to gain that confidence, the Fullerton Community Center is serving as host for an “English as a Second Language” class.
The class, which is on-going, is held from 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the center, which is temporarily housed at St. Mary’s Church, 400 W. Commonwealth Ave., during construction of a new community center.
Volunteer instructor Florence Epstein presents creative projects and small group interaction opportunities to help students improve their English-speaking skills, practice pronunciation, and increase their vocabulary and comprehension.
The class is open to the community; pre-registration is not required.
Further information may be obtained by calling the Fullerton Community Center at (714) 738-6305.
Persons requiring special accommodations to attend the class are asked to notify staff prior to coming to the center.
